The President of Civil Aviation
Sheikh / Abdullah Ali Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, expressed his sincere
congratulations to all the Arab countries, especially the brothers in the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the Arab
Republic of Egypt and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania on the occasion of
winning the seats in the Council of the International Civil Aviation
Organization (ICAO) in the elections that took place today on the sidelines of
the General Assembly of the International Organization meetings held in
Montreal.

added in a special press statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the
Arab Group in coordination and cooperation with the active regional
organizations, succeeded in obtaining five seats out of 36 seats in the Council
of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for the years
(2022-2025).

recalled that the retention of five seats by the Arab Group in the Council of
the Organization is a clear indication of the respect and appreciation of the
international community for the contributions of the Arab countries to the air
transport industry globally, wishing success to the winning Arab countries in
the interest of the air transport sector in the world.
He stressed the need for
"concerted efforts of member states to continue the progress and
development of civil aviation in the world in all its sectors."
The ICAO Executive Council elections resulted in the victory of the United States, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Australia, China, France, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Austria, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Iceland, Nigeria, India, Bolivia, Chile, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Jamaica, Zimbabwe, the United Arab Emirates, Romania, South Korea, Qatar, Mauritania and Malaysia.
